Y4 have PE on Wednesday. Children wear their complimentary Roby Park PE kit to school – white logo tshirt, navy joggers and jacket. In the warmer months, children may want to wear their burgundy shorts.
Reading Books
Children are allocated multiple books weekly on Rising Stars Reading Planet as well as a physical book which is changed weekly, linked to their stage of Reading. Physical books are changed every Monday. We expect children to read for 10 minutes every night and then to complete the end of book comprehension quiz online when they come to the end of their book. You can access Reading Planet here.
Home Learning
Children are to read for 10 minutes per night and bring their reading log in everyday, signed by an adult.
Spelling and times table home learning will be set on a Monday via Emile and should be completed by Monday.

Year 4 promoted the British Value of democracy through our smart school council session. Children were able to discuss ‘What ways can we be proud of ourselves and our school?’The majority vote was to treat each other with respect .

Please make sure your child has wellies to keep in school, no later than Mon 15th Apr. Children can only go on the field in wellies if the grounds are wet and we do not want anyone to miss out on all of the exciting play opportunities coming this Easter.
Today we had lots of fun attending our first kin-ball competition. The children showed great team work and sportsmanship as they competed against other local schools, the children were amazing and even left with some medals!
As part of The Great Big School Clean we have been collecting litter from the school grounds and local area. The children have loved looking after their environment. #TheGreatBigSchoolClean

In art today we continued our topic of abstract art. We sprayed water onto our paper, then dropped drawing ink and used our palette knives to spread and the combine colours #RPArt

Year 4 built their own torches out of a range of different materials We used the bottom of a plastic bottle to create the housing. Then we made the reflector out of the top half by wrapping it in tin foil. Finally, we had to add the electrical elements

Tomorrow is our annual @RockKidzUK Day which will be teaching the children a positive message about mental health, self esteem and wellbeing, Children can come dressed as rock stars or if they do not want to dress up they can wear their own clothes or uniform.

In science we investigated the effects different liquids have on teeth. We used our observation skills to record the effects different liquids had on eggs that had been soaked in a liquid for days. We then used a toothbrush to demonstrate the benefits of brushing.
Spanish day In Year 4 we learnt how to say the numbers from 10-20. To ask and respond to the questions, what is your name? How old are you? Where do you live? We then focused on the map of Spain, discussing the different regions and key cities #RPMFL
